He has also been proud to receive many "Best Physician" and "Top Patient Satisfaction" awards during the past 30-plus years of being a dermatologist. His prior work experience includes teaching dermatology residents as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Stanford Medical School. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Peppercorn has had more than 5,500 patient visits here on SkyMD since he joined us in 2019. Peppercorn devoted his career to the creation and operation of one of the most respected full-service state-of-the-art university quality dermatology centers in the country. He currently serves as the Dermatopathology Advisor for the International Foot and Ankle Foundation (IFAF).After training at the top medical schools in the USA (Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Stanford Medical School), Dr. Schaefer is also a past chair of the mentorship committee of the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP). He authored numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. Schaefer participated as a co-investigator in NIH-funded clinical trials focused on improving immune-based therapies for patients with advanced melanoma. After completing his fellowship in dermatopathology, he pursued his academic career as Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Dermatopathology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Tufts University.īefore joining Sagis, Dr. He continued his postdoctoral fellowship in dermatopathology and cancer immunology at the University of Virginia. Schaefer completed his residency in anatomic pathology at the University of California San Francisco and spent his third-year residency and fellowship in dermatopathology and surgical pathology at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Medical College of Cornell University at the Weill Cornell Medical College. He received his medical degree from Eberhard-Karls-University’s School of Medicine in Tübingen (Germany), after which he became an intern in General Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine and a third-year categorical resident in General Surgery. Jochen Schaefer is board certified in dermatopathology by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology. ![]()
